Manufacture of water purifiers and filtration systems
The manufacture of water purification and filtration systems has become big business in the developed countries of our planet. Companies that manufacture water purification and filtration systems in the Pak supply them to developing countries. Foreign companies that manufacture water purification and filtration systems supply them to the Pak.
Some of these water treatment and filtration systems are designed for municipal water treatment, while others are manufactured RO water purifier. All of them must at least meet World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines. Companies that manufacture water purification and filtration systems for use in the U.S. must also comply with Municipal.
According to Pak government municipal standards, water purification and filtration systems require two different levels of “water treatment.”
Filtration Systems:
All types of water filtration systems must remove at least 99.99% of bacteria, chemicals and other contaminants. Filtration systems must also remove lead and other harmful metals and minerals. This is called “4-log” or simple filtration.
Water Purification Systems:
All water purification systems must provide “7 Log” impurity reduction. If the number of contaminants is reduced by “7 Log”, the water purifier has removed 99.99999% of the bacteria, chemicals and other contaminants.
What does this mean for you?
If you are directly involved in the manufacture of water purification and filtration systems, it means that all your products must be of high quality and undergo constant testing to ensure compliance with national standards. All filtration systems, as well as purifiers, must remove the right number of contaminants. You cannot sell a filtration system and claim that it purifies water. They all have to meet EPA requirements.
If you are not directly involved in the manufacture of water purification and filtration systems, the difference between purifiers and filtration systems may seem minimal. It may seem irrelevant whether you buy a water purifier or a water filtration system. At first glance, it may seem that 99.99% or 99.99999% impurity removal doesn’t matter much.
However, this means that the water purifier must be a thousand times (1000 times) more efficient than the filtration system! In other words, you can choose how clean your water should be. Are you satisfied with removing only “1 insect” from a glass of water, leaving 999 insects? Or would you rather remove “1000 insects” from a glass of water? Drinking water treatment plants must provide ultra-pure water even in the most contaminated and dangerous situations.
A challenge for manufacturers
Our challenge to growers is to provide access to clean water to all who need it. Producers must strive to reduce the cost of water purification and filtration systems so that they are more readily available in remote regions and underdeveloped countries. People in these countries need filtration systems, whereas in developed countries we have very good drinking water from municipal water supply systems. However, given the current cost of producing water purification and filtration systems, those who need it often cannot afford clean water.
Manufacturers must reconcile profit motives with humanitarian compassion and find a way to offer water purifiers, or at least filtration systems, at much lower prices.
